Legacy of War
Of Orcs and Ogres
Back to Storm King’s Thunder
The sound of fighting woke me up this morning. I peeked my head outside of the window to see what was happening and my new found colleagues were fighting what appeared to be a group of orcs. Before I left the Inn I found some bread in the kitchen to munch on, not the best breakfast but for the situation, it did the trick. I went out to the town center as Mogrim dashed by me in a hurry. I followed him to the pumpkin patch and as he retrieved his hand ax he had left there the night before, he explained that he was going to cover the keep entrance. As we took our positions in the entrance, the orcs had moved our way and had begun to scale the broken bridge leading to the keep. Being filled on my morning bread I stood ready to hit whatever came our way. The orcs attacked and fought bravely but our little group worked together well to fight them off. Once the orcs had moved off towards the south it was Mogrim who suggested they were running from something as they had appeared wounded as they came to battle us. Perhaps looking for shelter even.
The half elf we had met the night before then told us the townsfolk were still alive and that we should go look for them since the orcs had moved away. Carric found some tracks and we headed off into the forest. The tracks ended at a cave and we sent in Carric to investigate first. He found there were two large ogres and they were not happy having us in their cave. I trapped them using a new Web spell I had recently learned and we were able to work as a great team to defeat them and their 5 goblin guards. As a little victory celebration, I ate some of the cooked chicken I found yesterday.
